Coaching and Consulting is available nationwide.

What is Unique About Your Approach to Performance and Wellness?

We are an integrative, performance and wellness clinic that uniquely blends medical expertise with coaching and consulting to empower leaders, teams, individuals and organizations. Our evidence-based 3-step approach focuses on enhancing mental resilience, shifting mindsets, and promoting realistic personalized grounded strategies. This holistic method elevates both personal and professional performance, prevents stress and burnout, and drives measurable success.

Is Your Service a One-Size-Fits All?

Our services are highly personalized because every individual and business is unique. Results vary based on mindset, commitment, and readiness for change or improvement. It’s important to remember that there is no one-size-fits-all solution. We provide evidence-based coaching, consulting, medical advisement and treatments backed by research to ensure the best possible outcomes. Our prescriptions and medical-grade products are not available over the counter, offering a higher standard of care.

While we aim for optimal results, we avoid making guarantees, as coaching, consulting and treatment effectiveness depends on multiple factors beyond a provider’s control. This approach ensures transparency, integrity, and realistic expectations for our patients and clients.

Do You Accept Insurance?

We operate on a cash-based model at this time and do not currently accept insurance or submit claims for reimbursement. However, we can provide a super bill upon request for patients who prefer to submit a claim to their insurance. In the event that you need a pre-authorization, there will be a $25 fee. It's important to understand that reimbursement for our specialized services by insurance companies is not guaranteed. Many insurance plans do not cover enhanced services, weight loss medication, specialized hormone therapy, and some coaching services. To ensure competitive pricing, we have partnered with leading pharmacies in the U.S. While we understand the value of insurance coverage, the administrative complexities and limitations associated with insurance often hinder our ability to provide optimal customized care. We prioritize offering personalized, high-quality services that yield significant long-term benefits for our patients and clients.

Are Services Covered by Insurance?

Insurance may cover certain appointment fees. We will provide a superbill and you’re welcome to submit a request on your own for potential reimbursement from your insurance company. You can conveniently use your HSA, FSA, CareCredit, or major credit cards to pay for our services.

Will Insurance Pay for My Skin Analysis?

Coverage for skin analysis depends on your insurance plan, so we recommend reviewing your policy details or contacting your insurance provider directly.

Most health plans cover dermatological services that are deemed medically necessary, such as: Acne, Eczema, Psoriasis, Skin infections, Rashes, Skin cancer screenings. If your insurance allows for reimbursement, we can provide a superbill upon request for patients who wish to submit a claim. For services requiring pre-authorization, there is a $25 processing fee. Please note that insurance reimbursement for our specialized skin analysis services is not guaranteed.

What Payment Types Do You Accept?

Cash, credit cards, debit cards, payment apps (PayPal, Venmo, Cash app) are welcome. You can also conveniently use your HSA, and FSA account.

When is Payment Due For Services?

A credit card is required at the time of scheduling a medical and wellness, coaching or consulting appointment. Unless listed otherwise, your card will be charged either at the time of booking or within 24 hours of scheduling. If you need to cancel your appointment, please do so at least 24 hours in advance to avoid charges. Some services may require 1 week’s notice for cancellations.

Do I Need to Join a Membership or Subscription?

No. Joining the membership or subscription is optional. Joining will reserve a set savings price. It also offers you inside information on sales, deals, new services, and savings being offered.

How do I Cancel a Membership, Plan or Program?

If you sign up for and change your mind within 24 hours, you will be refunded in full except for consultations and administrative fees which includes review of any records, documents, or forms submitted, any prescription orders placed even if not received, any prescription medications and follow-ups.

If you sign up for a membership, plan, or package and cancel 24 hours after you sign up but before you are seen for your initial consultation, you will be refunded in full less a $350 service and administrative fee which includes review of any records, documents, or forms submitted.

You may cancel your Membership at any time after the minimum enrollment (3 months) by written notice. Fees will continue to accrue until a written cancellation notice is received. The cancellation will be effective on the last day of the month in which the cancellation notice is received. Monthly fees that have been paid in advance will be refunded within fifteen-thirty (15-30) business days after receipt of the cancellation notice. If requested, a final appointment, charged at the usual rate, will be scheduled to bring our partnership to a proper close and create a final plan for you to follow on your own or with a new provider.

Can I Receive Treatment Without Lab Work?

It depends on which treatment you are seeking. To determine if you are a candidate for certain treatments, such as hormone replacement therapy (for ages 25 and older) or specific weight loss medications, a blood test is required. However, it is possible if you have lab work from the past 3-6 months, we may be able to use those results, depending on the specific tests and at the discretion of a medical provider. Initial labs help to establish the foundation of your current health status, provide a roadmap for follow-up visits, adjustments to treatment plans, and monitor changes over time to best optimize your performance and wellness. For your convenience, we've partnered with multiple labs to offer walk-in lab draws. Labs may also be drawn at your home or preferred location as well for an additional fee of $135 paid at the time of lab draw.

To optimize your appointment, kindly ensure all forms are completed at least 48 hours before your scheduled appointment. This allows us to adequately prepare for your visit and provide you with the best possible customized plan of action and care.

What Type of Supplements and Medication is Prescribed?

Bella Medical Associates providers offer a range of vitamins, supplements, and medications, including compounded products for hormone health that may not be FDA-approved. Although compounded medications are not evaluated for safety or effectiveness by the FDA, the FDA oversees compounding pharmacies to help ensure patient safety. These medications are often essential for individuals who cannot tolerate FDA-approved options due to sensitivities or allergies.

Compounded medications provide the flexibility to create customized prescriptions, modifying ingredients to meet individual needs and resolve issues with commercially available options. In addition, our providers may prescribe certain medications off-label, using clinical judgment to address your specific health needs effectively.

Do You Prescribe Medications, Including Controlled Substances?

Yes. Our providers prescribe medications, including controlled substances, as deemed appropriate and necessary for the individual's personalized treatment plan. Additionally, we prescribe prescription quality grade supplements and all other medications required for best overall performance and wellness care outcomes.

How is a Functional Approach Different Than a Conventional?

Conventionally, patients are often given medication or treatment to address a symptom without understanding and treating the reason the symptom became a problem. When your labs appear normal, we continue to investigate the symptoms. Bella Medical Associates' medical providers approach looks at “the whole picture” to figure out where the imbalance occurred to provide an opportunity for dis-Ease. Our approach aligns with the pillars of Functional Medicine, addressing the underlying causes of conditions and symptoms by focusing on key areas such as mindset, habits, lifestyle, nutrition, genetics, environment, and stress management.

Do I Have to Stop Seeing My Primary Care Provider (PCP)?

No. Our services will enhance the outcomes of your current care or treatments and reverse disease when possible. When incorporating our services into your healthcare and wellness, communicate openly with your primary care provider and other healthcare providers. Informing them allows for necessary adjustments in medications and treatments, ensuring the best care. We will alert you if we believe you need to follow up with your PCP for any abnormalities that we see in your blood work or history that may require further investigation. Open dialogue prevents complications, fosters collaboration, and ensures seamless integration of various treatments for your health concerns. Our services help to bridge the gap in your care.

Do You See Children?

As a courtesy, we may see children of members aged 8 and older for non-emergency, uncomplicated minor illness appropriate for virtual visits and who are unable to be seen by their pediatrician. These visits are limited per year. This includes ear infections, sore throat, routine medication refills (non-controlled substances), and review of laboratory or imaging results among others.

Please note, our providers are only licensed to treat patients who are physically located within our service areas: North Carolina (NC), South Carolina (SC), New York (NY), Arizona (AZ), Wyoming (WY), and Washington (WA).
